Our trip to Peru was fabulous! Each day our expert tour guide and driver met us for the next adventure. The hotels were excellent, and the sites we visited were interesting and informative.
We enjoyed the interactive events like swimming with the sea lions, and the breathtaking views while traveling across the country by bus, train and boat. The meals provided were expansive buffets with many choices. In the evening our hotels had restaurants or we explored the options nearby. We listened to the guides recommendations, and everyone adjusted to the altitude comfortably. There just wasn’t enough time to see everything, we will have to return again soon!
What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?
The most memorable is the view of Machu Picchu from the Mountain after the challenging 3 hour climb to the top. It was spectacular, wonderful to share with my family, the highlight of the trip! We enjoyed the tour of the Inca Granaries, and the scope of the civilization became clear as we toured each site with all the extraordinary cultural and architectural details.
The homestay was enlightening, the reality of life in Peru was very different from Canada. I hope that the kids appreciate the challenges and advantages of their own life after that experience.
If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
We wanted to see all that we could, but I might have enjoyed an extra day in Cusco. Its difficult to create an itinerary when there are so many things to see and do.
